Baby, it's cold outside!

I woke up this morning to a thick blanket of snow. This may not seem that exciting for some of you, but we rarely get snow like this. When we do the whole city grinds to a standstill. Only the foolhardy (and those with important jobs, I guess) try and get to work and all the schools are closed. Luckily, uni is closed, because I don't fancy getting the snow off my car.

I'm going to make the most of the extra day off and work on McCalls 3776 in a blue merino wool knit. Something to keep me warm, I hope.

  1. I don't know what to do with myself today! I'm too scared to drive anywhere in this weather so I've been watching Food TV with my cat mostly. I've run out of sew-able fabric too so I can't even follow in your footsteps!

  2. I know, it's way too scary to drive. That sounds like fun. I love Food TV. I don't think there will ever be a day that I run out of sew-able fabric. I have a major stash.

  4. I moved my sewing machine into the living room because it was too cold in the sewing room. Watching movies and snuggling with kitties is probably the best thing to do on a snow day. Funny, Dad was just telling me today that when he was a kid living in England, his parents used to give them green ginger wine when they came inside after playing in the snow.

  5. Ooh, I do like the look of that pattern. I can't wait to see the end result. Call me odd, but seeing your snow pictures is making me long for our winter, despite it being lovely outside right now. Take care on the slippy snow! Xx

  6. I was so excited by the snow, we ventured out and build a snowbride, she had on a gorgeous snowball dress complete with train (pics up tomorrow!). I contemplated driving, just cos I could (4WD) but then decided a warm house with heat pump was jthe more sensible option.

  8. Sounds like what happens when it snows here--everything shuts down and most everyone gets a day off! As long you're safe and cozy at home, snow days are fun. Especially when you have a project to work on. :)
