Petalhead

This dress is one of the ones I bought when I was in England. It's homemade and has lots of lovely little details. It has bra holders on the shoulders. They are pieces of ribbon with snaps that fasten around your bra straps so they don't show. It also has two zips; one in the side and one at the back neck. I often forget to do the back one up because I'm not used to having two zips.

Dress: Saltaire Vintage Fair
Belt: Op shopped
Tights: K-mart
Shoes: Hunters and Collectors
Bag: Ménage a Trois Vintage
Headpiece: Op shopped
Cardigan: Op shopped

I love the bow and the bust gathers
The vintage headpiece is one I op shopped recently for $2. It makes me feel a bit like a flower pot or something, but I like it.

    1. It's funny white and pink and delicate flowers are usually not my sort of thing but I love it too. Thank you!

  6. That's such a pretty frock, 2 zips is a bit random though. X

    1. Quite a few of my vintage patterns call for two zips. I usually just ignore it and put in one big back zip because it seems pretty pointless.

    1. I know. My bra and slip straps are always showing. Even though I want to leave Chch really badly, I will miss the op shops so much when I go.

  8. What a gorgeous dress, such a pretty print, and I love the detail on the bosom! I always appreciate the bra strap thingies too, I think it's a sign a garment is well made.
What an adorable headpiece! I wonder what it would look like worn to the side? Though I very much like the Petalhead look as you have it here! xxx

    1. Me too. I think the bust gathers and bow may be my favourite thing about the dress. I have tried it on the side and I like it like that too.

  9. This dress is so spring sweet and the bow detail has all of us sighing! I love how you funk it up with those black lace tights. The little head piece is a unit find and doesn't it make you want to try and make one. How fun would that be!

    1. It's funny because it's actually autumn here but the weather has been very spring-like, so I've been wearing my summer clothes still. It would be fun to make one. I think it would be pretty simple too. It's just fabric and netting.
