Vintage at the Office

This is what I wore to work today. When I first started I did try and tone it down a bit, but I don't feel like me unless I'm wearing multiple floral prints. I did wear a blazer over the top to make it marginally more corporate.

The pleating on the bodice is what made my buy this dress. I'm a sucker for drapey bits. It goes around the back and has a couple of hooks and eyes to close it over the zip.

Don't know what I'm giving the side eye to there
Vintage dress: Trademe
Tights: Kmart, maybe?
Shoes: Tony Bianco

  1. Arghhh that is such a good dress! I love the pleated action too. Trade Me has been so good lately. Also hoorah for introducing more vintage into your office looks! When I first started I tried to come off professional (even though my office is very very relaxed) but now I am like whatever, you guys can deal with my ratty sandals and wrinkled sundresses. Corporate life.

  4. That is a beautiful dress and suits you perfectly - it kind of would have been corporate wear in another era wouldn't it? You look a little camouflaged!

  10. Lovely dress! What I love about vintage dresses is that they have quite interesting cuts (like the drapes in this particular one) but also the fact that even though many of them are tailor made, they seem to fit almost anyone if the sizing is correct otherwise. I suppose the magic is in the cuts and designs.
