Flour Power

When I went out for dinner last week the menu said cauliflour instead of cauliflower (New Zealanders tend to pronounce flower like flour anyway). This led to a discussion about the correct spelling of cauliflower and of course everyone pulled out their phones to check. I love old clothes, but new technology is pretty great too. Speaking of old clothes, this 1950's dress is new (to me, at least).

It was hot and windy, and I was really tired so the pictures aren't that great.
Thanks for all your comments about my new job. I bought the dress with my first paycheck. It was there when I got home from work today so I had to try it on.

So hot I'm not even wearing tights

Dress: Trademe
Shoes: Golden Ponies

  1. I've been sitting here saying flower out loud and made my husband do it too- I think Australians pronounce it as flour too! Lovely dress and yay for weather nice enough to not need tights...

  2. That dress is so pretty on you and the perfect reward for working! Aren't flour and flower pronounced the same? I don't know any other way of saying them! x

    1. I think some people say the 'w' in flower so it's two syllables like flo-wer and flour is just one.

  3. I say those words exactly the same too and just to make sure I had to ask a coworker to see if they did. LOL.

  6. That is such a great dress! I saw it on Trade Me but it looks much better on you than it did in the photos. I am jealous of how hot it is there too, I'm still wearing tights, Docs, a jacket and a hat on my walk to work in the mornings.

Shall we pencil in Saturday the 21st of December for you, me and Helga to do something?

    1. Thanks. It's only been hot a few days but it's really windy so it's actually not that great.
Yup, the 21st sounds great. We could go op shopping or for a drink or something.
