Today I wore a me made dress (Butterick 9826) to uni. I feel like I have it pretty easy compared to some of the other Me-Made-Mayers who are working because they probably have dress codes that they have to work around. None of my sewn clothes would be very work appropriate but luckily I can wear what I like to uni.
OH! I love how the pettycoat sticks out from under. It's such a nice green dress, I love green.
ReplyDeleteI love your dress! That is why I am worried about doing Me-Made-May on work days. We have a pretty easy dress code. The only thing is you have to wear all black and cover your shoulders. The only thing is I haven't made anything that is black. I was working the first three days of May but luckily we did stuff in the night after work so I was still able to wear me made clothing.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous dress, and I agree with Atomic Mum, the bit of white petticoat peeking out from under the dress just adds that certain something :)
ReplyDeleteLove polka dots! And love this dress! You've got a fantastic me-made-may wardrobe :-)
ReplyDeleteI adore this dress. The colour is great and that petticoat just completes it!
ReplyDeleteSo Cute! I rushed over to the butterick website to look for the pattern... it's vintage, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteSeejanesew- Yes it is vintage, 1950s I think. It's a really simple pattern though- just a gathered skirt and a bodice with a couple of darts and sleeves that are cut with the bodice- so there's probably a modern pattern that is similar.
ReplyDeleteI think I may have a pattern that will work... where are the darts? bust and front? Are there back darts too?
ReplyDeleteIn the pattern there are two darts at the front and two darts at the back. I actually added a bust dart at either side as well on this version because the one I made previously gapped a bit.
ReplyDeleteI love this dress too! Green is a great color on you, and I love how the lace peeks through the bottom of the dress!
