Butterick 8459 take two
This is my second version of Butterick 8459. I seem to have gotten in the habit lately of making multiples of every dress I sew.
The fabric is furnishing fabric I bought ages ago for $3 a metre. The print is kind of strange because if you look closely it has little ceramic bunny rabbit vases with flowers in them.
I think I like this version better than my first one because the fabric drapes in a much nicer way.
It was the first time I've made covered buttons and I was happy the way they turned out. I also made a belt using one of the belt buckles I got last year at Stash reHash.

WOW! The dress is fabulous! I love the fabric!!!
ReplyDeleteReally really cool! I LOVE that there are ceramic vases and bunnies on this fabric, it takes the whole item to the nest level! You've done the collar and button great, the whole things looks so crisp and well manufactured.
ReplyDeleteLove the dress! It's really cute and also looks a little Easterish...with the bunnies and all...
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this...those shoes are so pretty!!
ReplyDeleteThis fabric is amazing, so colourful and spring-like! And it suits you very good.
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous frock! And I love the shoes!
ReplyDeleteIf you like a pattern, and it works, why not make multiples?! I do it all the time, with a slight variation on each.
Furnishing fabric is great-I have a pair of 70's curtains stashed away, just waiting for the right pattern.
Stash Rehash again this Saturday,I think?
Thanks! Mutliples are good too because it's so much easier to make a pattern the second time. Awesome, 70's curtains usually have really cool prints. I think the next Stash Rehash is the 18th of April.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great effort, I'm blown away by your talents. Like Helga, I'm lusting after your shoes, they make an already fab outfit outstanding.
