Put a Bird on it II

I have been busy with uni lately, and haven't had time to do any sewing or op shopping but I have been wearing clothes, so I thought I'd just show you what I wore today.

Vintage dress: Two Squirrels
Cardigan: Op shopped
Shoes: Hunters and Collectors, Wellington
Belt: Op shopped
Brooch: Trademe
Bag: Trademe
Tights: Can't remember

The bag is one of my favourites. It's actually a toilet bag but it's way too awesome to use for that. It's not just me that thinks the bag is great, every time I use it someone comes up to me and says, "I love your bag".

    1. Thanks! It's taken me about six years to build up my vintage dress collection. It takes a while to find them but I'm sure you'll have a wardrobe full of jealousy inducing vintage dresses soon too.

  3. Gonna be yet another person to say it: I love your bag. You always have the best Trademe finds, I have spent way too much on there since getting a job.

    1. Thanks! I bought it a few years ago when trademe had awesome vintage stuff relatively cheaply. I don't think it's as good any more. oh man, having a job again must be so good.

  4. That's a cute bag and I love your brooch too. I have my eye on a bird bag but it's way out of my price range, I consider £10 too much for a bag so considering the one I want is four times that, I can go wanting!

    1. Thanks! I don't like paying much for bags either. Hopefully the bag goes on sale and you can buy it.

    1. Thanks! Yeah, it is. I use it for cosmetics when I go away but as a handbag at other times.

  10. That bag is just too beautiful. I wouldn't use it as a toilet bag either, it is far too nice to be hidden away and goes beautifully with your outfit.

    1. Thanks! Yeah, it would be rather a waste to only use it for what it's meant for.

    1. I know! It would have been a bit awkward if I'd been running around naked, not to mention cold. Thanks.

  12. I was going to ask you where you bought the bag but you said it later on. I can't believe it's a toilet bag. Don't tell anyone that! haha. Regardless, it looks killer! You rock it!

  16. Great post title "Put a Bird on it"... I'd been going through a mega-bird phase when my husband and I happened to see a Portlandia show in which that phrase is batted around freely by tree-huggers, but I suppose I am a bit of a tree-hugger.

Love your colorful ensembles and especially the bright yellow glasses in your playsuit post.

I agree with you about quilting fabrics. They do work very nicely in some garments. Using them is a matter of personal preference and depends on the intended outcome. It's also important to keep in mind - quilting fabrics are available in a variety of weights and quality, just like any other fabric.

Anytime you're too busy to write a post, stop by Toile La La and leave a comment because I like your observations.
