OWOP Day Seven: Better late then never

OWOP Day Seven

This is my last day of OWOP, only three days late. This was actually day six but I posted day seven first so I could post about my Mad Men dress before the deadline. Thanks for your comments on my last post. It's nice to know other people feel the same way.

This is a pretty boring outfit. I find it really hard to think of exciting outfits with separates because I wear dresses most of the time. I wore my London blouse with a self-drafted skirt, op shopped cardigan and Golden Ponies t-bars.

I think my lesson from OWOP is that I need more plain skirts. I have lots with crazy and colourful prints but they don't go with all my printed blouses so I'm pretty much limited to my one grey skirt and one black skirt. I tend not to buy plain fabrics because I don't find them exciting, so I have a whole wardrobe of prints that all clash, and not in a good way.

    1. Thanks Kat. I was worried that my outfits were a bit boring and repetitive so I'm glad you liked them.

  2. That blouse is completely adorable. I am SO envious of your sewing talents, all the clothes you make are so cute. I desperately need some new blouses like that.

    1. Thanks. Some of clothes I make don't turn out cute but those get stuffed to the back of the wardrobe.

  3. Super cute skirt. I don't really have any plain skirts either which really does limit what tops I can wear with them. I love the cut of that skirt on you. You look fabulous as ALWAYS! Xx

    1. Thanks. Yeah, plain skirts seem hard to find, or maybe I just don't look for them hard enough. Thanks, I really must make another version of it.

    1. Thanks. After seeing your OWOP pattern I thought why didn't I pick a circle skirt because I've made quite a few of those too.

  7. I like the pattern mixing here. I need to remember to add more leopard print back into rotation. I thrifted a pullover version of your sweater a few weeks back, but I am super envious of it as a cardigan.

    1. Thanks. Leopard print is the best. You could make it into a cardigan. I vaguely remember seeing a tutorial somewhere on the net about turning a pullover into a cardigan.

  8. I don't think this outfit is unexciting, I really like your print mixing!
I also am attracted to printed fabrics and have a whole closet of printed fabrics and so few Plain but that's just what I love!

    1. Thanks! The print mixing was mostly an accident. It's almost impossible not to mix prints with my wardrobe.

  9. Maybe it is not kosher to comment on your personal looks, but I just love your little birdy legs, and your wry facial expressions. You have such a cute little face * pinches cheek*

    1. Haha, thanks. It's funny because I hate my chicken legs. I think my facial expressions come across as grumpy even when I'm not but 'wry' is a much better word.

    2. Listen, my whole life people have been asking me.."Are you mad?" I can be thinking about, let's see, my next knitting project, that delicious left-over pork chop in the fridge, etc. I think it's my black eyebrows and hooded eyes. I tried smiling all the time, but just ended up looking psychotic.
      So, don't worry about it.
