The $1 Dress

I made this dress loosely based on Simplicity 1157. I changed it quite a bit and added things like the bow and sash. The fabric I used was a sheet from the op-shop which cost $1, the zip I already had and the straps are made of bias binding that I found in my Mum's sewing stash hence the $1 dress.

The bow on the front of the bodice.

The purple roses make me think of Spring garden parties. Perfect for the lovely spring weather we've been having lately, now if only I had a garden party to attend.

  1. love the dress - and the purple tights are so cute... also, I really like your zipper rosette from your previous post...

  2. Thanks. I love coloured tights. The rosette was really easy and fun to make.

  3. You made that dress?!?! It's gorgeous!! Before reading your post, I thought it was vintage!

  4. Yeah I did. Thanks. I'm so happy that you thought it was vintage.

  5. It turned out beautiful! I love the pattern on the fabric and the bow is just darling. It also looks gorgeous with those purple tights you paired it with!
