Vintage fabric and a resolution

I don't normally make New Year's resolutions because if you want to do something you may as well just do it. That said, I went on a bit of a fabric spree after the New Year and have made a resolution not to buy any more fabric for at least six months. These are the last pieces of fabric I'm going to buy for a while.

All of the fabric pieces are vintage from the Last Chintz. This cotton is probably going to be turned into a wiggle dress.

I love the mod pattern on this one. It will be perfect for a 1960's style mini dress.

There's only about a metre of this one. I can probably squeeze a wee blouse out of it. Maybe a back button one because, even though they are a pain to get done up, I love them.

I wasn't 100% sure about this one. At first I thought it was kind of 40's, but then I thought it might be a bit too 80's. I'm still not really sold on it but it was only $5 for 3 metres. It will probably be turned into a dress because I really only sew and wear dresses.

  1. Ooohh... they're all lovely but I also LOVE the mod '60's one especially. Will be looking out for the dress you make with that one.

  3. Now I really like that last daisy print fabric, I'm seeing it as a circle skirt with a floofy petticoat underneath! All of the fabric you chose is beautiful; but no more now, Brodie, and get sewing with what you have! xxx

  6. Pah! Resolutions should be broken if you find something special. I love the floral 'one metre blouse' fabric - A great mix of pastels. I think you are right about the bottom one feels 1980's. Perhaps it is the Red in it and the sizes of the flowers. Personally, I think your 40's / 50's looks are the best!
Oh, it's me, Derek passing through again (Not 'stalker' yet, just back for curiosity...) Oh, I think I will go to an older post and comment on something I really liked.. tc x

  8. All the fabrics shown are just awesome! I just loved them all! And remember one thing "resolutions are meant to be broken" and I assure you that you will also believe in this phrase just after viewing the vintage fabric collections at Full Swing Textiles by visiting http://goo.gl/0zIidE!

  9. I really like all the fabrics, but I like the last one the best. It kind of reminds me of Dr. Seuss.

  11. So I thought you'd disappeared from blogging for a while - turns out my bloglovin' feed decided to delete you! Weirdness - sorry I haven't been around here for a bit. I LOVE that mod print - it is SO amazing, perfect for a rad shift dress. Also that final bit of fabric is dreamy. I'm on a bit of a fabric buying ban too, I have SO much stuff from the Arthur Toye closing down sale and I REALLY need to start to use that stuff up. Thanks for the link to Last Chintz - it looks like an amazing store, hopefully I can check it out one day :D
